Never Forget Your Dreams
Custer, SD | September 22–24

South Dakota has a rich history with deep, spiritual origins that pay homage to its ancestors, among them Crazy Horse, or Tasunke Witco. During a time when cultures clashed and land became an issue of deadly contention, Crazy Horse answered the call to protect the Lakota people, putting their needs above his own and forever etching him and his legacy in American history. He was a hero to the Oglala Lakota as he lived his values openly and authentically.

Our theme is Never Forget Your Dreams and like the Ziolkowski family, who has spent decades carving the side of a mountain to honor a true hero, we will come together. As CEOs, founders, and investors we all can relate to having a dream, working hard to pursue it, and leave behind a legacy of integrity, transparency, service, and sharing. We will have a robust agenda comprised of learning opportunities that include panel discussions, Hero Spotlights, and plenty of workshopping to share ideas and grow our businesses.

A mountain is a rather large structure but it doesn’t get to be that way overnight. Building a business takes time and like the carving of the Crazy Horse mountain, it’s about breaking down the monumental into smaller, more manageable steps. It’s about sharing the load, the accomplishments and collaborate in order to achieve great things.

What does it mean to be a hero leader & stand by the courage of your convictions? It’s about living your values openly and authentically and being able to say ‘no’ if it doesn’t fit into your values. It’s about staying relentless when the naysayers make themselves heard and always standing up for what you believe in.

Every good idea starts with a dream. To make this dream a reality you need to not only have the courage of your convictions but ensuring that your brand is in front of its target audience. This panel will focus on how effective marketing can help make your vision a reality.

How to lead without anyone in charge. Is this the new way to lead? Does it work?

Our events team recommends flying into Rapid City, SD (RAP), 40 miles away, or Gillette, WY (GCC), 115 miles away from Custer. This is a mainly rural part of South Dakota. We recommend renting a car instead of ride-sharing services because of the long distances and potential lack of availability.

Q & A

The weather in September can change on a dime. We advise you dress in layers and for all types of weather.

There is no formal dress code. Please dress comfortably and leave the suits, blazers, and formal footwear behind. Wear comfortable shoes as we will be doing some exploring.

Besides yourself, a pen and paper if you’re a note taker. If you’d like to bring your laptop or tablet computer, you can too.

Please let us know as soon as you know you need to cancel. To best prepare, it is beneficial for us to have the most accurate count of attendees we can, prior to the event start.

The Hero Club is comprised of CEOs, investors and founders and we encourage attendees to bring qualified candidates that personify hero values and will benefit from this event. Before they can register though, they have to go through a vetting process with our team to make sure they are qualified to attend.

If there is someone you plan on inviting please reach out to our events team, and they will help coordinate the next steps.

If you have any additional questions, please reach out to our events team. They will be happy to answer or direct you to the appropriate person who can help.
